Simon Trelawney

Sherlock Holmes and the Ciphered List is my first published novel.

I have also written film, television, theatre and literary reviews; essays on a variety of topics including current affairs; comedy sketches; short stories and comic verse. I used to contribute a regular column to the British Chess Magazine.

I have a PhD in British politics from London Metropolitan University and I am the author of The Politics of the Rope: The Campaign to Abolish Capital Punishment in Britain, 1955-1969 (Arena, 2012) based on my doctoral thesis and The Tribune Group: Factional Conflict in the Labour Party, 1964-1970 (Rabbit, 1998) based on my MA dissertation, both written under my real name.

I live in Essex with my two cats and work for a charity.
